Another investment is launched at the Nestlé pet food factory in Bük

Nestlé Hungária starts yet another major investment in their pet food factory in Bük. In the framework of the more than EUR 96 million capacity extension project creating 120 jobs, a new wet food plant of 16,000 square metres will be established, where two new aluminium pouch production lines and 50 new robots will be installed. The production capacity of the Nestlé plant in Bük will increase by another 30 percent with the development, thus, instead of the current 70, more than 90 trucks can leave Hungary for over 50 countries around the world on a daily basis.

The world's largest and more than 150-year-old food and beverage company is present in 189 countries worldwide. The Swiss company employs more than 2,400 people in three factories in Hungary – Szerencs, Diósgyőr and Bük – and in its headquarters in Budapest.

Nestlé Hungária launches a capacity-building investment of HUF 35 billion creating 120 jobs in their Bük factory. Under the development, a new wet food plant of 16,000 square metres will be established, where two new aluminium pouch production lines and 50 new robots will be installed. Thanks to the development, the total production capacity of the Bük Nestlé factory increases by 30 percent.

With the implementation of the investment, the current 85% export ratio will rise to over 90%. Expectedly from the fourth quarter of 2022, the capacity of the premium cat food production plant will be able to produce an additional 50,000 tonnes annually. Following the extension, instead of the current 70, more than 90 trucks can leave from the Nestlé factory in Bük for over 50 countries of the world every day.

More than half of Nestlé Hungária's suppliers are Hungarian companies and thanks to the new investment, this volume may increase even further.
