Subsidy to improve competitiveness: changes in the deadline for completing the investment

The Decree of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade No. 7/2020. (IV. 16.) on aid measures for increasing competitiveness of undertakings concerning the COVID-19 outbreak which entered into force on 10 May 2021 allows the extension of the investment deadline.It is possible to extend the investment deadline until 31 December 2021 at the latest in case of applications which were submitted before 25 November 2021 with the identification number VNT2020-1.

NEW VIP SUBSIDY TO IMPROVE COMPETITIVENESS FOR MEDIUM-SIZED AND LARGE ENTERPRISES

In line with the approval of the European Commission on May 6, 2021, a new Subsidy to Improve Competitiveness has been introduced by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade, with HIPA Nonprofit Ltd as the managing body. The new incentive program is available from May 10 2021, for medium-sized and large enterprises throughout Hungary based on the amendment of the Decree 7/2020. (IV.16.) of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade on the subsidy to improve competitiveness required as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

COMPANIES THAT SUCCESSFULLY APPLIED FOR THE COMPENSATION SCHEME FOR LARGE ENTERPRISES - VIDEO REPORT

In line with the approval of the European Commission on June 23, 2020, a new compensation scheme has been introduced by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade, which was managed by the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA). The new scheme was available from July 6, 2020 for large companies based on the amendment of Decree 7/2020 (IV.16) of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade on the subsidy to improve competitiveness required as a consequence of coronavirus situation and the introduced administrative measures. The coronavirus outbreak had a severe economic impact that resulted in declining revenues and operating profit. Therefore, Hungary has adopted this new compensation scheme that compensated the affected undertakings for the damage caused by the COVID-19 outbreak and administrative measures adopted with the intention to minimize the spread of the virus. The compensation could be granted in the form of non-refundable cash grant for those companies that were willing to contribute to economic recovery of Hungary. Business Services Hungary 2020: Key industry trends and tendencies after the pandemic - VIDEO

The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) has organized an online event and award ceremony for the sixth time. This year again, a comprehensive survey with the participation of 67 companies was conducted among the business service centres (BSCs), whose results were the focal point of the online presentations. The event was hosted by HIPA in partnership with the AmCham Hungary BSS Platform, and this year the prestigious awards handed over at the event were granted to ExxonMobil, Eve Bader, general manager of Roche Services (Europe) and NI Hungary.

CALL FOR PROPOSAL REOPENS FOR THE SUBSIDY TO IMPROVE COMPETITIVENESS WITH NEW CONDITIONS

The Hungarian Government has decided to support the businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic by allocating more than HUF 221 billion to this subsidy scheme. The subsidy has been designed to support companies with an investment plan of at least EUR 150,000 and with the intention to maintain the existing jobs. For those companies that have successfully applied for the subsidy, more than HUF 163 billion has been transferred until today.

Companies that successfully applied for the Subsidy to Improve Competitiveness - VIDEO REPORT

As part of comprehensive economic response of Hungary to support businesses affected by coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, a new incentive program has been introduced for companies based on the Decree of Foreign Affairs and Trade no. 7/2020. (IV.16).

The subsidy scheme has been designed to help medium-sized and large enterprises that are active in the manufacturing or business services sector which face difficulties due to loss of income and liquidity resulting from the economic impact of the pandemic, and commit to maintaining their headcount and to carrying out new investments. Amount of the aid mounts up to the equivalent of 800.000 EUR in HUF. The aid is granted in the form of a non-refundable cash subsudy in advance payment until December 31, 2020 and can be requested by submitting an application to HIPA. Notification about the suspension of the Subsidy to improve Competitiveness

We would like to inform you that the Call for Proposal (id. no. VNT-2020-1) on Subsidy to improve competitiveness will be suspended from 08:15 (CET), 01 September 2020 until different decision of the Donor, and requests may not be submitted afterwards.
