In line with the introduced comprehensive economic response of Hungary to support businesses affected by coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak at the Economic Action Plan webinar, the new incentive program is now available for companies based on the Decree of Foreign Affairs and Trade no. 7/2020. (IV.16) on the subsidy to improve competitiveness required as a result of coronavirus outbreak. HIPA named region's best investment promotion agency for the 3rd time in a row
In its survey "Global Best to Invest 2019", Site Selection Magazine listed Hungary among the top 10 investment locations of the world once again. Besides this achievement and following last years' successes, Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) has been recognised as the Top Investment Promotion Agency in the Eastern Europe & Central Asia region, now for the third time in a row.
Eight Hungarian cities and regions among the best European locations of the future
Altogether an unprecedented number of eight Hungarian cities and regions came in top 10 in the 2020 ranking of fDi magazine, a publication by the Financial Times. Besides Budapest, Debrecen, Miskolc, Székesfehérvár, Tatabánya, Veszprém, alongside Central Hungary and the Northern Great Plain take a prominent place in the list of the European cities and regions of the future. The results are in line with HIPA's strategic objective as to strive to provide FDI investors with the same high-standard support and assistance countrywide, building on the cooperation of the respective municipalities.

The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) has organized the sectoral conference and award ceremony for the fifth time. This year again, the foundation of the program was provided by the comprehensive survey conducted among the business service centres (BSC). The 2019 survey was prepared in cooperation with the Hungarian Outsourcing Association (HOA), as well as the Corvinus University of Budapest, as an academic partner. This year the prestigious awards handed over at the gala event were granted to MSCI, IT Services Hungary and Emese Szakács, director of AGCO Hungary.
Hungary among the most important investment locations of the world again
Examining the job creation effect of foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, we can conclude that Hungary continues to be one of the world leaders. Based on the IBM-PLI Global Location Trends 2019 report, our country is placed 16th globally based on the number of jobs created through FDI projects with more than 19,000 new positions and ranks 5th in the world based on newly created jobs per million inhabitants.

National Instruments (NI), a company specialized in the manufacturing of electronic instruments and devices, has been operating its manufacturing base in Debrecen since 2001. NI has been continuously looking for Hungarian companies who could successfully join in its supply chain − it turned out at the Supplier Forum organised jointly with the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA), the Embassy of the United States in Hungary and the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA).
