Trends, perspectives and awards – a day with the Hungarian BSC sector - VIDEOS

The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) has organized the sectoral gala event and award ceremony for the fourth time, this time also complemented by a competence day. This year again, the foundation of the full day program was provided by the comprehensive survey conducted among the business service centres (BSC). The 2018 survey was prepared in cooperation with the Hungarian Outsourcing Association (HOA), as well as the Corvinus University of Budapest, as an academic partner. This year the prestigious awards handed over at the gala event were granted to Morgan Stanley, BT, and Prabal Datta, manager of TCS.

Government-business cooperation to enhance the competitiveness of Hungary - VIDEO

Participated by government and business leaders, Business Meets Government conference featured discussions on the possible enhancement of the competitiveness of Hungary. This joint event of Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) is going to result in the elaboration of a package of proposals and recommendations for the Government in the fields of investor's environment, labour market, digital economy and innovation.

Hungary is among the world’s top countries in job creation via FDI

Hungary continues to be one of the best countries for foreign direct investments (FDI), according to the remarkable IBM Global Location Trends 2018 report. The 17,500 new jobs created in Hungary in 2017 is the 7th best result globally per one million inhabitants. Another important milestone is the number of the projects: the registered number of 121 new projects is a record for Hungary since IBM-PLI started monitoring these data in 2002.

HIPA named region’s best investment promotion agency

Based on the Site Selection Global Best to Invest 2018 report Hungary is among the 10 best investment locations of the world and wins in two categories in the region. Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) also received a recognition winning the Top Investment Promotion Agency, Eastern Europe & Central Asia Award.

The dialogue between the Government and companies helps Hungary’s competitiveness

The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) and its strategic partner, the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), have made government and corporate leaders sit at a table at the annual event called 'Business Meets Government', organised to improve Hungary's competitiveness, for the third time. The goal set at the first conference, according to which Hungary should be able to move up 10 places from its position held at that time on global competitiveness ranking within 10 years, has been partially been achieved: on the basis of this year's report, our country moved up nine positions.

President of HIPA discloses package to improve competitiveness to large corporations

Compiled by the National Competitiveness Council, a package aimed to improve Hungary's competitiveness include issues such as the business regulation and taxation environment, the development of e-services in public administration and the expansion of the labour market. The planned measures were disclosed by Róbert Ésik, President of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) and member of the National Competitiveness Council to representatives of large corporations operational in Hungary on 2 June.

Competitive Education Conference for the development of Hungarian competitiveness

The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) organised the Competitive Education Conference for the third time. The goal has not changed this year either: To improve the long-term competitiveness of Hungary on the labour market, by specifying key points by which Hungary can move up 10 places on the World Competitiveness Ranking within 10 years.

President of HIPA among members of the National Competitiveness Council

The eight-member National Competitiveness Council – consisting of experts called up by Mihály Varga, Minister for National economy – held its inaugural meeting; it has the task of drawing up and reviewing initiatives relevant to the competitiveness of the Hungarian economy. Róbert Ésik, president of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) can contribute to the effective function of the council through his in-depth knowledge of the needs of foreign investors and his management experiences from the private sector.

The goal has not changed this year either: To improve the long-term competitiveness of Hungary on the labour market, by specifying key points to achieve a 10 spot World Competitiveness Ranking improvement in 10 years for Hungary.
