Franceso Segura, CEO of Segura Group

F. Segura started its activities in Hungary in 2005 and the company is now ready to starts its fourth major expansion at its Szolnok site. The Spanish automotive supplier plans to install Industry 4.0 technology of more than EUR 13.4 million at its only European plant outside of Spain. The investment will increase productivity and create 80 jobs.

Segura Group was established in 1970 and designs, develops and manufactures metal parts for vehicles – interiors, exhaust systems, seats, body and engine parts. It offers planning, prototyping and mould construction services, with activities also including extrusion, welding, surface treatment, and foaming. The Spanish company (among others) serves the brands of the PSA and Volkswagen groups, Mercedes-Benz and Mazda.

Segura has been active in Hungary since 2005. The Szolnok plant is part of the global manufacturing structure of the company, integrated with its production network in Spain and China. During the last 14 years F. Segura Hungary expanded its plant and manufacturing capacities continuously, doubling the area of the site.

This new EUR 13.5 million investment is the fourth major extension of the plant. Industry 4.0 manufacturing technology will be installed and 80 jobs will be created, including some high added value positions. The high-tech productivity improvement investment of the Spanish company is an excellent example of moving from the "Made in Hungary" era of the relatively simple manufacturing jobs towards "Invented in Hungary" projects of higher technology level and added value.
