Himile has chosen Hungary as the base of its European expansion
Since its founding in 1995, the Chinese Himile Group has evolved into an international group of companies and conducts business in three major branches of industry: it manufactures molds for the tire industry, production machinery and equipment, as well as oil and gas producing and processing installations. In addition to the manufacture of rubber processing machinery, the company deals with wind turbine components, pressure vessels, oil and gas processing equipment, major assemblies for rail transportation systems and it is the world's biggest manufacturer of tire valve cores.
Now committing its European manufacturing hub in Hungary, Himile Science and Technology is certainly regarded as the largest manufacturer of tire moulds in the world: Its manufacturing capacity of 20,000 units amounts to one fifth of the global production of this class of products, while r it amounts to sixty percent of Chinese tire mold exports. They supply top quality tire moulds to each one of the ten global leaders of tire manufacturing.
This project constitutes a very significant milestone for Himile's strategic expansion plans, since now it has acquired a capability to serve its primary European partners and the regional market directly from a European site instead of being compelled to rely solely on supply lines maintained from China. The company expects that its capacity in the production of tire mold components, and tire mold related maintenance, repair and modification services will increase at a steady pace, the range of products manufactured here will grow with time, and also: that other business sectors of the company will establish a foothold in Europe while continuing to sustain Hungary as its European center of operations.
Beyond the first stage of the project now completed at a cost of HUF 1.4 billion, further investment projects are being planned and prepared to the tune of multi-billion HUF developments laid out for coming years. These designs are supported by the fact that the plant floor area can be expanded to 6,000 m2 as opposed to the currently available area of 3,100 m2. The present number of employees of 50 persons will gradually increase to 200 and above in the next 3-5 years.
