In addition to manufacturing, their business portfolio also includes the design and development of automobile and other engineering components, primarily in relation to steering gear, switches and engine components. The France-based Group currently employs some 5,500 people worldwide and its turnover is expected to exceed EUR 1 billion this year.

GMD Cast Hungary that implements the announced investment was founded in 2017 in Hungary and later it launched the project by acquiring the manufacturing hall located in the Industrial Park of Dorog, which was formerly used by the Japanese companies Sanyo and Panasonic. According to the plans of the French Group, the automobile component manufacturing plant in Dorog will be the largest among all the plants of the casting branch of the GMD Group, and at the same time their most modern and most efficient, highly robotized plant in Europe. Thanks to the investment amounting to more than EUR 47 million, 240 new jobs will be created, mainly for highly qualified specialised professionals and technicians.
