The complex development of the Béres pharmaceutical factory has been completed in Szolnok

Béres Gyógyszergyár Zrt. has carried out expansion and technology development at its Szolnok production unit to the value of EUR 10.3 million. As a result of the project, the production and logistics area increased by almost one and a half times, a new technology is applied, and 60 new jobs were created. Through an individual government decision, the Hungarian Government provided a grant to the project with the assistance of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA).

The Béres Pharmaceutical Factory was established 25 years ago as a family enterprise involving 10 persons. The company has grown to a Group by now, has more than 270 employees, makes 70 products, and has a 35% share in the health maintenance and disease prevention market in Hungary. The Béres Drops also have a Hungaricum (special Hungarian product) rating. Béres Gyógyszergyár Zrt. spends a considerable amount on research and development and innovation every year; as part of this, it cooperates with Hungarian higher education institutions and participates in dual vocational training.

Initially, in addition to the Béres Drops, the product mix consisted of Béres Vitamin C and four kinds of Béres effervescent tablets at the Szolnok Plant. At present, more than 100 kinds of Béres products are made in more than 230 packing units. Over the past more than two decades, real estate, machinery and asset developments, energy-saving and environmental projects, and the introduction of an integrated corporate management system were carried out at the Szolnok Plant of the Béres Pharmaceutical Factory to the value of about EUR 23 million.

As part of the development just delivered to a total value of EUR 10.3 million, the rated pharmaceutical production area increased by 38%, while the various warehousing areas by about 50% in total. In addition, new machines were purchased and put into service also in connection with the manufacturing and packaging technology, which can contribute significantly to meeting the continuously growing domestic and foreign demand.

Seventy-two per cent of the supplier network of the Group is Hungarian, thus capacity expansion has major importance also for small- and medium-sized enterprises connected to the pharmaceutical industry as suppliers. The Béres Pharmaceutical Factory is committed to the continued operation of its manufacturing base in Szolnok and to developing and growing there. The workforce employed well fits in with the secondary and higher education scheme operating in the city.
