The German company that is also an Airbus supplier is expanding in Nyírbátor again

With an investment of HUF 3.7 billion, the German-owned Diehl Aircabin, which manufactures aircraft parts, extends its site in Nyírbátor. The project creating 230 new jobs includes the expansion of the Nyírbátor site and acquisition of new buildings and machinery. The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) supported the project as a professional adviser during the decision process.

Since its foundation in 1902, the family-owned Diehl Aircabin group has employed approximately 16 000 people to develop, manufacture and market Diehl products in more than 80 locations, in approximately 20 countries, and on 4 continents. Their sales exceeded EUR 3 billion last year.

Diehl Aerosystems started to build its production capacity in Hungary in 2011 by establishing a subsidiary. Diehl Aircabin Hungary Kft. established in Nyírbátor currently has more than 500 employees and has approximately EUR 30 million of annual turnover. In addition to door and door frame covers and climate pipelines, manufactured for their largest customer Airbus and the A320 family, they are also manufacturing parts for the A380, the largest passenger plane in the world, in Nyírbátor. In 2016, the production value of air and spacecraft production and repair in Hungary reached HUF 34.2 billion, reflecting an increase of 10.9% compared to 2015. The expansion of manufacturing capacity is demanded in order to satisfy the needs related to the anticipated increase in the number of air passengers (IATA Aviation Forecast), and the rise in demand for a new type of aircraft.

The German-owned company makes sure that its employees maintain their up-to-date professional skills. The company also takes part in the dual training programme of the University of Debrecen and in its Nyírbátor plant students can learn about the latest technology in the field of practical training.

The announcement tightens even more the traditionally good relationship between the two countries. Germany is the largest equity investor in Hungary. More than 26% of the total FDI in Hungary are linked to German enterprises and Germany is also the most important foreign trade partner of our country. More than a quarter, 27.5% of Hungary's exports are made to Germany.
