Dana To Boost E-mobility Transition With Large-Scale Investments

US-based Dana Incorporated has announced to launch two projects to expand its operation in Győr. The leading auto parts manufacturer adds new capacities worth some EUR 96 million to meet growing demand for EVs. The investments will create nearly 300 jobs for highly skilled workers some of whom can also benefit from an ambitious training program.

Dana Incorporated is present in 31 countries, including Hungary, where it has been operating its subsidiary, Dana Hungary Gyártó Kft. since 2005. The American corporate designs and manufactures highly efficient propulsion and energy-management solutions that power vehicles and machines in all mobility markets across the globe.  The Hungarian operation of the company currently employs 1,300 people at four facilities in Győr serving all of Dana end markets – light vehicle, commercial vehicle, off-highway, and industrial.

Dana will now launch two large-scale developments. Under a EUR 69.5 million project it is going to extend existing state of the art production facility to produce power electronics coolers and other thermal-management technologies by using fully automated production lines.

An additional EUR 26.3 million investment is set to add production of high voltage motors and electric drive units (EDUs) to an existing production plant in Győr.

Combined, the new operations are expected to hire nearly 300 highly skilled technicians. Up to 110 staff can also look forward to a special technical skill related training program in electrification technology with a worth of EUR 550,000.
