Another significant investment to be launched at the Makó unit of DUOCOR

A comprehensive investment program lasting until 2026 is launched at the Hungarian site of DUOCOR. In the furniture production plant belonging to the German family business, new halls will be built for EUR 10 million, and the machine park will also be renewed, significantly increasing production capacity and broadening the product portfolio.

The Hungarian unit of the company was established in Makó in 1993, with the main activity of office furniture manufacturing, which can be divided into three main areas: metal processing, woodworking, and plastic processing. The products of DUOCOR cover a very wide spectrum, from school- and office furniture to students' hostel, lecture hall equipment, military furniture, hospital and home care furniture, elements of shop equipment elements or units.

DUOCOR has great experience regarding the production and precise logistics of repetitive, small and medium series products having many variations. Almost 360 employees work at Makó at the 30,000 square metres production area on a property of ten hectares.

Through the now announced EUR 10 million investment, DUOCOR raises its hospital-, school-, and office furniture and school blackboard production capacity. The investment program creates 65 new jobs, and includes the procurement of new machines and the establishment of new production plants until 2026. A two-story production hall with an area of 4,300 square metres has been built in the frames of the investment, and will be expanded to almost twice as big, 8,000 square metres by the end of the investment.

Between 01 January 2014 and 30 June 2019, a positive investor's decision related to projects of German investors was made 101 times, through the cooperation of Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) and through the investment promotion scheme. These 101 projects have brought EUR 6.1 billion investment and more than 26,000 new jobs for the country.
