Flex to Start Production of Cutting-Edge Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Components

Flex, with over three decades in the Hungarian market, is investing at two sites in Zalaegerszeg. The American-Singaporean company will begin manufacturing high-tech electric and hybrid vehicle components for global OEMs such as BMW, Ford, and Volkswagen, as well as Tier 1 suppliers, as part of its expansion. The EUR 90 million investment will create 210 new jobs and further strengthen the company's and Zalaegerszeg's prominent position in the automotive industry on a national and European scale.
Founded in Silicon Valley and now registered in Singapore, Flex has grown over the past 50 years into a multinational diversified manufacturing company with more than 100 operations in over 30 countries. The company designs and manufactures smart products that connect people and technological developments across in 12 industrial segments. Its partners include prominent companies like Bose, Google, Lenovo, and Nike.
Throughout its three-decade presence in Hungary, Flex (formerly Flextronics) has shown its commitment as a long-term partner to Hungary through continuous reinvestments. With two operations and numerous sites, its latest investment will expand the automotive components segment in Zalaegerszeg.
The EUR 90 million project, designed to meet evolving market needs, will expand the company's manufacturing halls at both the Zala B site and the ZalaZone area. The new units will produce high-tech electric and hybrid vehicle components for OEM companies, including BMW, Ford, and Volkswagen, and for Tier 1 suppliers.
This investment will create a total of 210 new jobs, 20 of which are linked to research & development.
