The best performing foreign executives have been recognized by the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) and the Budapest Business Journal (BBJ) since 2015 every year at a gala event. The ‘Expat CEO of the Year’ Award is won by the person living and working in Hungary who is assessed to have done the most for this country’s development and its international recognition through their professionalism and outstanding achievements last year. This time the award went to Giacomo Pedranzini, CEO of Kometa 99 Zrt.

As always, ‘Expat CEO of the Year’ was chosen by the professional awards jury from the following shortlisted trio: John Ford, managing director of GoTo in Hungary, Frank Iepema, CEO of Hydro Extrusion Hungary Kft. and Giacomo Pedranzini, CEO of Kometa 99 Zrt.

The award went to Giacomo Pedranzini who noted in his speech:

We are nurturing what Leonardo called the perfect machine, that is the human body. This means that food producers have a huge responsiblity, and I hope we can live up to the challenge. On the other hand, the success of our company couldn't have happened without the economic and political support of Hungary.

The main objective of HIPA, official partner and co-organizer of the event, is to attract investors to Hungary, hand in hand with its genuine efforts to recommend high-quality Hungarian suppliers for those who are already present as investors in the country.
