One of the most innovative high pressure aluminium foundries in Europe has been completed in Apc
2017. 10. 20.
The new plant of CSABAcast has been officially delivered in Apc, and has been equipped with state-of-the-art technology and fleet of machines of the highest quality. The about 17,000 square metres manufacturing base built during the greenfield project serves the expansion of the activities of the company so far, i.e. light metal casting. The EUR 15 million project implemented with the participation of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) will create 130 new jobs.
The activities of CSABAcast Könnyűfémöntöde Ltd. owned by Hungarian private individuals include not only the production of aluminium die casts, primarily automotive engine components, but also design and machining. The production activity takes place in Apc, Heves County. In 2016, the company manufactured about 8 million parts and its annual sales exceeded HUF 10 billion, 95% of which came from export sales. As a result of the project, the company is foreseen to increase its sales by 60% over the next 5 years, but the site also allows the current sales to be even doubled.
CSABAcast is a TIER-1 direct automotive supplier. Their customers include, e.g. Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW and Ford, but they also supply products to other sector. Their partners include Bosch, MIELE and ThyssenKrupp in this area. In 2017, the Budapest Stock Exchange selected CSABAcast as one of the 50 most inspiring successful Hungarian companies, and the London Stock Exchange included it in the list of the 1,000 most inspiring and most dynamic European small and medium-sized enterprises.
As a result of its constant and ever-expanding customers, the company is carrying out the largest expansion in its history, and the EUR 15 million project will result in 130 new jobs in Apc in addition to the current 240-strong headcount. The new 17,000 square metres production facility and the installed machines will enable the company to continue and expand the advanced production technology and other product-focused developments implemented in cooperation with car manufacturers, contributing to a further increase in the proportion of added value of products and services in the forthcoming years.
The leading sector of the Hungarian economy, the automotive industry, closed a record year last year: its gross added value reached 5.4% of the total added value of the national economy in 2016. The production value of the sector increased by 1.8% year-on-year and reached nearly HUF 8,000 billion. The weight of exports amounted to 92.2% in total sales in 2016.
The additional reserves of vehicle manufacturing are indicated by the fact that the HIPA is currently managing 33 active automotive projects before decision-making. If, after the end of the negotiation processes, these projects are implemented with the currently known parameters, the projects will create 9,191 new jobs in total and EUR 1,220.1 million will be invested.
