The Deloitte SSC conference, one of the biggest BSC events of Europe was organised on 9‒10 October in Prague. The key topic of the event was process automation and robotics (RPA), moreover, presentations and panel discussions focusing on the actual challenges and status of the sector were also held featuring major company executives of the industry. HIPA promoted its industrial activities at a separate stall again this year, as a result of which ‒ in addition to much interest and positive feedback ‒ two new investment leads were also received.
The business services sector, BSC is one of the recent success stories in Hungary: among the investments managed by the HIPA Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency following the automotive industry the second highest number of projects arrived in the BSC sector in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well. The sector, which is considered to be juvenile has been rapidly developing in Hungary over the last few decades and by now has become one of the key sectors from the aspect of job creation including further growth potential. Currently there are 110 business service providers in Hungary, which provide jobs to approximately 50,000 people.
Accordingly, the Agency is paying extra attention to collecting and processing feedback from the members of the sector. A key role in this is also played by the yearly Deloitte SSC Conference, where the Agency can collect direct feedback from the international players defining the sector. 1,300 people from 48 countries visited the prestigious event this year.
