Hungarian freight forwarding and logistics firm Trans-Sped Kft. celebrated the inauguration of its brand new logistics hall in Nagytarcsa. The investment is part of a seven-year development plan that mobilizes EUR 23 million and creates 257 new jobs.

Seated in Debrecen, fully Hungarian-owned Trans-Sped Kft. has been present on the logistics market since 1990, and has evolved into a key stakeholder. The Trans-Sped Group now serves logistics-related needs of its clientele including freight forwarding, road transportation and storage from 14 locations in Hungary and Romania. An e-commerce hub and storage facility is also in operation in Szenc, Slovakia.

Trans-Sped has been implementing a series of investments between 2017 and 2023 to strengthen its market position, and as a result in total 6 logistics centers have been and are being established in four locations: 3 storage facilities in Debrecen and one each in Nagytarcsa, Környe and Tata, respectively. The total investment volume amounts to EUR 23 million and the number of newly created jobs is 257.

The inauguration of the facility in Nagytarcsa, located in the Budapest metropolitan area, marks the latest stage of the above-mentioned large-scale investment campaign. The newly set up automated storage of 17,000 square meters and 20,000 palette capacity provides complex logistics services for multinational manufacturing businesses as well as large e-commerce merchants.

The economic significance of the logistics sector is also evidenced by the fact that its share amounted to 5.2% of the Hungarian GDP in 2021, and in the first three quarters of 2022 the production value of the sector grew by nearly 50% year-on-year.
