Vitesco Technologies is to further develop in Debrecen

2021. 08. 24.

Two months after the inauguration of the automotive electronics manufacturing plant in Debrecen, Vitesco Technologies, which was formed by the transformation of the Powertrain division of Continental, decided on yet another large-volume greenfield investment. With its investment of more than EUR 120 million, creating 450 new jobs, the company will double its manufacturing area.

The German Vitesco Technologies with significant results in high-tech electronics inaugurated its state-of-the-art smart factory constructed of more than EUR 116 million investment in June this year, which operates on 100% renewable energy. The factory produces cutting edge automotive electronics and transmission controls.

Under the second investment, the company specializing in modern propulsion technology will double its 7,000 sqm area that was inaugurated in the summer of 2021, where it will produce high-tech electronics for all propulsion systems – from fully electric cars and plug-in hybrids to electrified internal combustion engines.

The new CO2-neutral buildings including production and office areas will bring the smart factory to a total of 31,000 square meters.

With the expansion of the production facility, Vitesco Technologies is proving the importance of the Debrecen plant in the European production network to meet the increasing demand for clean drive technologies with high quality standards.
