The K&P Chem plant to manufacture cosmetic basic materials has been completed

Trial operation is to start soon and live production will be launched early 2020 in the new plant of K&P Chem implemented in Szolnok in the framework of an investment worth EUR 16.5 million. This plant that will manufacture basic materials for cosmetic products will supply the major players in the cosmetics industry of Central and Eastern Europe, such as, among others, Procter&Gamble, Unilever and Henkel.

The Szolnok location of K&P will be the first Hungarian plant of the Greek Kapachim Group. The parent company has gained experience in the production of basic materials for pharmaceuticals, soaps, cleansing products and other chemical products for a decade. Currently, the Group has four manufacturing locations in Greece, Morocco and Algeria, employing some 200 people altogether. Kapachim lays a special emphasis on research and development, being one of the few companies manufacturing household chemicals that sell their own patents to several global multinational companies.

The Szolnok plant of K&P Chem will be the first location of the Group in the region, from where the major players of the Central and Eastern European market of the cosmetics industry will be supplied with basic materials. The infrastructure has been completed and the manufacturing technological equipment have almost completely been installed in the framework of this project worth EUR 16.5 million, which will create 50 new jobs.

The chemical industry that has great traditions and significance in Hungary, ensures jobs for almost 100,000 people nowadays, produced 4.9% of the total added value of the national economy in 2018 and its sales turnover exceeded HUF 6,000 billion.
