We are pleased to have the third largest electric battery production capacity in the world, but we can now move forward at an even higher level in the production process as we are working to create large capacities in every area of electromobility in Hungary; after electric batteries, the focus is now on electric motors,

said Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Having a new product also entails new competences since by increasing manufacturing depth the plate package and the rotor, both needed for the electric powertrain, will also be made by staff in Győr; later on performance electronics will be manufactured there as well. All that will allow the company to expand know how.

In line with the transformation of the automotive industry, it is essential for us also to transform our business model and product portfolio to maintain and further strengthen our competitiveness and provide long-term jobs for our employees. With our forward-looking products and competence-based services, we will continue to play an important role in the Volkswagen Group and contribute to Hungary's successes in the new era of the automotive industry,

Mr. Dintner added that Audi Hungaria shouldn't be conceived solely as a manufacturer but rather a service provider relying on the solid expertise of employees that provides high added value and actively shapes future mobility.

The production of the MEB ECO powertrain family will be the next major step in the transformation of our powertrain manufacturing. Until the start of series production, we will train our employees in the new technology and help them acquire the competences needed to produce the new parts,
