The latest development at Sanofi's Csanyikvölgy plant was inaugurated at a ceremony, resulting in an investment of almost HUF 8 billion to increase the production capacity of prefilled syringes by one and a half times.
Founded in 1973, Sanofi is one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, with products marketed in 170 countries. For nearly four decades, the Paris-based company has operated its Csanyikvölgy plant near Miskolc, which has commissioned an expanded capacity prefilled sterile syringe production line.
The plant has now been upgraded thanks to a development of almost HUF 8 billion which will contribute to maintaining its leading position in the production of oftentimes life-saving blood-thinning injection products within the Sanofi Group.
The Hungarian site contributes to the treatment of millions of patients with more than 200 million injection units per year, making Sanofi the second largest pharmaceutical company in Hungary and the 15th largest domestic exporter.
The manufacturing unit employs more than 400 highly skilled professionals; hence, it is one of the largest employers in Northeast Hungary.
